DEPARTMENT OF SHALAKYA-TANTRA

                             The department of Shalakya-Tantra has three wings namely Netra Roga (Ophthalmology), Shiro-Nasa-Karna avum Kantha Roga (ENT) and Danta avum Mukha Roga (Dentisry). Accordingly the department of Shalakya-Tantra runs three OPDs namely –

a) Shalakya-I            –       Netra Roga (Eye OPD)

b) Shalakya-II           –       Shiro-Nasa-Karna avum Kantha Roga (ENT OPD)                     

c) Shalakya-III          –        Danta avum Mukha Roga (Dental OPD)

                             A major chunk of the OPD patients of Rajiv Gandhi Ayurvedic Hospital is contributed by Shalakya-Tantra department. The department has an independent Eye Operation Theater. All ENT surgeries are currently being done in a main OT.                

                        Recently, Kriya-Kalpa has been started by Shalakya-Tantra Department and for this one room has been alloted in the new hospital building. Netra Tarpan & Shirodhara has been given as thesis topic to the P.G. students. A special Investigation Room has also been made operational in the hospital where facilities like Direct and Indirect Ophthalmoscopy, Keratometry, Autorefractometry and Audiometry are being provided.
