University Grants Commission has taken various steps for the prevention of Caste Based Discrimination in Higher Education Institutions. The Registrar, Himachal Pradesh University Shimla has also reiterated that there should be a mechanism for receiving and redressal of complaints of Caste based Discrimination. The officials/faculty members should desist from any act of discrimination against SC/ST/OBC students, teachers and non teaching staff on grounds of their social origin.
Following committee has been constituted for prevention of Caste Based Discrimination who will look into the complaints received from SC/ST/OBC students, teachers and non teaching staff :
