Located in the shadows of Dhauladhar Hills, blessed by Baba Baijnath (Lord Shiva) and situated at the bank of Binwa khud, Paprola is proud of its Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Post Graduate Ayurvedic College.The college came into existence in the year 1972 by the name of Him Ayurvedic College as a private institution under the supervision of Vaid Hakim Parishad of Himachal Pradesh by the efforts of Vaid Jagan Nath Sharma. At that time it was affiliated with Punjab faculty Chandigarh. Later in the year 1978 on 3rd March it was undertaken by H.P. Government and was affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University in 1979.

Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Post Graduate Ayurvedic College Paprola is the only college of this type in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated in Paprola town of Distt. Kangra on National Highway No. 20. The world-famous Lord Shiva temple of Baijnath is at a distance of 2 Kms from the college.

COLLEGE
Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic College Paprola is the only college of this type in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated in Paprola town of Distt. Kangra on National Highway No. 20. the nearest Railway station is Baijnath Paprola (Northern Railway).The nearest airport is Gaggal in Distt. Kangra



HOSPITAL
Rajiv Gandhi Govt Post Graduate Ayurvedic College Hospital, Paprola, is a 215 bedded multi specialty hospital affiliated with the College. Situated in the campus of the institute. The hospital is being managed by a full time Medical Superintendent. This hospital provides the basic facilities for clinical training



DEPARTMENTS
There are 14 Departments in the college. All the departments are spacious,well equipped and have highly qualified and experienced faculty. All other departments are Post Graduate departments. The college is recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicine, a regulatory body of Ayurvedic education



CHARAK PHARMACY
The Charak Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Paprola was started in the Year 1997 with the assistance from Government of India in a single story building having 1600 Sq. Ft. covered area. Later on a project was submitted to the Government of India for further strengthening of the Pharmacy.



HERBAL GARDEN
The college has herbal garden at Joginder Nagar with various herbs cultivated in it for easy identification. Herbs produced are also used for making medicines in the pharmacy. It has an area of 24 acres. College’s own herbal garden is also being established for which funds.



HOSTEL
The college has one Boys hostel (Charak Hostel) with capacity for 100 students and two girls hostels (Dhanwantri and Sanjeevani) with capacity for 105 students. They are shared by under graduate and postgraduate students of the college. An additional P.G. Girls Hostel.
